My interest in photography began in 2014 when I started hiking the mountains of Colorado with my dog, Jack.
In those early days, photography wasn't really the purpose of our hikes. I carried a simple point-and-shoot camera mostly to bring home pictures of the places we had explored so I could share our adventures with my wife and friends.
Over time, something changed. I began paying more attention to the landscapes around us—the morning light on the mountains, the changing colors of the seasons, the quiet streams, and the wildlife we encountered along the way. I wanted to do a better job of capturing what made those places so special.
That led to better cameras, a lot of learning, and eventually a passion for photography that I never expected when Jack and I first started hiking together.
I've never been particularly interested in photographing only the famous landmarks. Some of my favorite subjects are the lesser-known places of Southern Colorado, the familiar landscapes and quiet corners that are often overlooked.
Jack was my constant hiking companion throughout those years. In fact, I believe he was with me when I took nearly every photograph you'll see on this website.
Jack passed away in 2025, but the memories of our adventures together remain a part of every photograph.
This website is my way of sharing some of the beauty we discovered along the way.
